Album Era Privacy Policy
Published September 29, 2026
Album Era has no separate account system, advertising, tracking, third-party analytics, or developer-operated server that collects your music collection.
Data stored on your device
Album Era stores the information needed to provide its features on your device. This can include collection metadata, shelves, shelf labels, Smart Shelf rules, search history, listening statistics, saved album positions, discovery preferences, and cached artwork.
Album Era does not download or store Apple Music audio. It does not include advertising SDKs, tracking technology, or third-party analytics, and it does not send your collection to a server operated by Brian Bishop.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud Sync, supported Album Era data is stored in your private CloudKit database and made available to your devices through the Apple account you use with iCloud. Brian Bishop does not receive your collection through this service and cannot view it in the developer portal.
Turning off iCloud Sync makes Album Era use local-only storage after relaunch. It does not delete data already stored in iCloud.
Apple Music
Album Era uses Apple Music access for catalog search, playback, and discovery that you initiate from your Apple Music Library. These features communicate with Apple’s services. Apple handles Apple Music account, subscription, catalog, playback, and related service data under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Local backups and exported files
Album Era automatically creates collection backups on your device. Its backup history is local and is not synced through iCloud by Album Era, although Apple’s device backup or migration features may transfer local files.
You can export a backup as a JSON file and choose where to share or store it. An export contains Album Era collection data; it does not contain music audio or cached artwork image files. After export, the file is controlled by you and by any service or person with whom you choose to share it.
Your controls
Settings > Library Data provides controls for clearing saved album positions, listening statistics, search history, album sort preferences, shelf labels, and Album Discovery state. It also provides a control to erase library data.
Settings > Backups lets you restore or export an existing local backup. Library Data also includes a control for clearing local backup history.
When iCloud Sync is enabled, changes and deletions to synced library data also sync to iCloud and your other devices. Clearing collection backups deletes only the local backup history. These controls do not delete previously exported files. Turning off iCloud Sync does not itself delete data already stored in iCloud.
Information you send for support
If you email Album Era Support, the information you voluntarily provide—such as your email address, device and app details, description of an issue, or an attachment you choose to send—is used to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue. Support email is separate from the app and is not data collected from Album Era.
Support emails and attachments are retained for up to two years after our most recent correspondence, unless needed longer to resolve an ongoing support request or meet legal or security obligations. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.
